Ash Olive

Ideal for strength, lightness, and flexibility.

The Tree

A tree common in temperate climate zones, such as Central Europe and North America, the olive ash gets its name from the dark green or almost black core, due to the natural action of fungi, creating a contrast with the light hue of the wood. It was once believed that the ash tree kept evil spirits at bay, and its leaves and bark were used for medicinal purposes: for this reason, it was called “The Tree of Life” in Norse mythology.

The Essence

Ideal for its strength, lightness, and flexibility, olive ash is easily workable and lends itself to multiple uses: in addition to being used in the creation of furniture elements and flooring, it is used for oars and sailing boat masts, baseball and hockey sticks, tennis rackets, and drumsticks or other percussion instruments.
