European Canaletto Walnut
A heavy, valuable, dark wood with glossy veins.

Originating from the North American continent, the Juglans Nigra species (Black Walnut) was imported and cultivated in Europe in the 17th century.
It features a wide and rounded crown, an upright trunk, and rough bark, with a significant stature: it can reach up to 45 meters in height.
It requires good sun exposure, is resistant to diseases and pollution, making the Black Walnut a popular choice for street trees, parks, and gardens in various Central European cities.
It is an extremely valuable wood, darker, more purplish, and with more sapwood than the American black walnut.
When sawn, it indeed takes on a black hue, covered with glossy and elegant veins.
It is used for furniture and veneers.
