Tabula, a brand known for its environmental sensitivity and commitment to the valorization of wood from centuries-old trees fallen due to natural causes or felled for safety reasons, supports the Giant Trees Foundation (GTF), a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation and protection of forests and large trees, and establishes a crucial collaboration with it.
Created over 20 years ago with the aim of understanding, defending, and safeguarding the arboreal heritage, and now led by Andrea Maroè, a “global tree hunter” and agronomist specialized in arboriculture, GTF shares with Tabula a deep passion for nature and ecological responsibility.
Tabula and Giant Trees Foundation together for a more sustainable future.
The collaboration between the brand and the non-profit foundation is based on a shared interest in centuries-old and monumental trees. Tabula, in fact, is committed to actions in favor of nature, participating in the recovery of large trees at the end of their natural life cycle. Thanks to its very short supply chain, it transforms their wood into precious tables and unique natural design objects that would otherwise be burned, releasing into the air all the carbon dioxide accumulated over the centuries.
Founded on the common commitment to environmental conservation and fueled by the personal acquaintance between the “global wood hunter” Georg Schurian – one of the founders of Tabula – and Andrea Maroè, director of GTF, the collaboration began precisely in 2020 with the recovery of the Plane tree in Piazza Primo Maggio in Udine and promises to be long-lasting.
